Before initiating our development of the High On-line UPS we interviewed end users to determine what they where missing in the HIGH size ups. With this information we started to work on making our customers needs a reality. The result was a truly innovative solution allowing the UPS two distinct advantages offered only on units costing twice the price.

One was scalability. This allows a small company to purchase small and expand up to 8 Times the initial capacity. Since we are looking at years of growth for our valued end users we had to make the units with a MTBF of over 10 years. By the same token, CDP needed to make the units easy to maintain and operate. This need brought new concepts in hot swap power boards in the power modules as well as redundant PCB and Power supplies. The advances in these new models are so diverse that it took over 500 pages of text to go through all the capabilities of three new models.

Second was redundancy. Available in high price units from other manufacturer’s units. CDP included this feature in an effective and economical design for such applications as banking and call centers where power availability is a must. Each of the 14 different models allow for redundancy with a twist. All other models from other manufactures provide redundancy by using two same capacity ups linked or 1+1 which double the cost of the solution. CDP does this but can also do it 1+1 or 7+1 thus allowing 1/8 less units and lower investments cost.

A multitude of options had to be developed for these units that are now all available through our partners. To further provide quick turn around time on service our engineers also separated all function into 5 power stage boards. This separates the function of the UPS into each basic component boards allowing for swapping of boards while the other critical functions continue operating and protecting.
